As part of our product development, we will improve the sustainability and protectiveness of our packaging solutions through the development and implementation of new packaging standards that ensure that product packaging has the lowest possible environmental impact, while protecting, delivering, and presenting our product in perfect condition to our customers.

SOGEM (DOLLE group) will continuously work to increase awareness among both new and existing employees of the company's environmental policy and objectives, so that they have a strong anchoring in the behaviour and culture that is crucial ensuring the goal of sustainable production.

ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY IN PRACTICE

SOGEM (DOLLE group) sites and factories

We have implemented several sustainable energy solutions across several of our sites:

  • Solar panels have been installed at both the factory in Ukraine and the warehouses at DOLLE GmbH in Bremen
  • Heat recovery systems have been implemented at the factory in Frøstrup
  • Both the factory, the office, and the town of Frøstrup are supplied with heat through the use of our left-over wood - biofuel.

Innovative product development

To minimize our environmental impact, we at SOGEM (DOLLE group) work to develop products that have a minimal negative impact on the environment and at the same time create value for our customers.

Among other things, we can highlight our clickFIX® loft ladders with a strong climate profile that sets a new standard for the insulation value (u-value) of loft ladders. This means that consumers save energy in their homes, while also avoiding thermal bridges. In other words, you achieve the best insulation value on the market, making it possible to reduce heat loss in the home.

Material review & goals

We continuously review our production methods, paying particular attention to the use of materials, and we set ambitious goals for the future with the aim of minimising our environmental impact.
Our current goals include the following:

  • We will reduce our CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030.
  • We will recycle and reduce the use of packaging.
  • We will increase the amount of recyclable materials in SOGEM's products. Already now, our shrink film already consists of 30% recycled plastic.
  • We will reduce the share of plastic materials in our packaging by 25% by 2025. This includes the phasing out of ESP as a packaging filler and plastic protection on loft ladders.
